Big Finish
Fantasma smoothed the
fabric on her dress and looked in the mirror. She sighed. In the background she
saw Jarod watching her. He was dressed in the requested 18th century
garb and looked good. She chuckled lightly and turned to him.
"Now why can’t
I look as good as you?"
"What?" What
are you talking about? You look beautiful." He smiled.
She smiled back and
returned to the mirror.
"This dress makes
me look fat."
He put his arms around
her shoulders and gave her a hug, "You do not look fat. You are a
beautiful person. What are you so fanatic about?"
"I just want to
look my best for Dahn."
"I may not have
known for long but I get the feeling he would love you dressed in a paper
bag."
"Well of course he
would. Easy tear away access." She winked.
"Come on, let’s
go, I’m sure they are waiting for us.
He offered his arm to
her and they made their way to the main lobby where they met up with Ashell and
Ezri.
"Well, this must
be my lucky day. I get to escort three lovely ladies. But I don’t believe
I’ve met you." Jarod took hold of Ezri's hand and gave it a gentle
kiss.
A little surprised,
Ezri explained how she and RosaryKai had just arrived and had run into Ashell
in her way to change. "Ashell and I didn’t exchange two words before
RosaryKai was whisked away by MacKai and DahnKai. Then Ashell explained what’s
going on and I must admit, I’m rather excited." She smiled.
"Excited? For
what?" Fantasma asked.
"Never you mind.
We must get to the ballroom!" said Ashell.
****************************************************
The ballroom was
enormous. Having not been in the room before, Fantasma felt so small in it. The
chandelier glowed with candles, casting a soothing warm glow about the room.
Chairs were arranged for a quartet remained empty, as the occupants were long
gone. Circular tables surrounded the dance floor and a bar was located in the
far corner, yet no bartender in sight.
The curtains rich with
color hung heavily on the walls. The portraits looked regal as they stared at
something unseen to everyone else. Light music filtered though the room as the
four of them clicked across the dance floor.
"Wow,"
whispered Fantasma, "This is so unbelievable!"
Ashell smiled, "That’s
why we’re here!"
"What?"
"To experience the
unbelievable."
They marveled for a
moment at the grand ballroom while waiting for the Kais. Fantasma checked Jarod's
pocket watch, purchased especially for this occasion, and grew concerned.
"Where are
they?" she muttered.
"What?" asked
Ashell.
"Where are the Kais?
I thought they were meeting us here…"
"Oh, they will be,"
winked Jarod, "While we wait... Ladies?"
Jarod offered a hand to
Fantasma and Ashell, as he only had two hands. Fantasma and Ashell offered
their hands to Ezri and they began to dance as a group.
They had barely started
when MacKai led DahnKai and RosaryKai on to the floor where they whisked their
ladies away. Jarod stood off to the side and watched, smiling secretly.
Through the speakers "Last
Dance" filled the room. The three couples swayed to the easy melody.
Two of the three couples watched the third as they knew what was to happen
next. Only one person was completely clueless.
DahnKai held Fantasma
tight and brushed his lips against her ear. Then, as the beat changed from slow
to fast, DahnKai twirled Fantasma so fast that she spun out of control and
crashed into Jarod who was waiting for her. He then caught Ezri as RosaryKai
did the same to her a moment later, and then the same to Ashell. He placed them
all in the three chairs he’d secretly arranged while they were dancing.
Fantasma had only a
moment to look utterly confused at a smiling Ezri and Ashell before the lights
and the music went out. As quickly as the black silence overwhelmed them, a
spectacular light show started with a spotlight and "YMCA"
blasted out of the speakers.
In the spotlight stood
the three Kais were dressed as three of the six Village People. RosaryKai was
the construction worker in nice tight blue jeans, a white T-shirt that clung to
him, a yellow hard hat, and sunglasses. MacKai was supposed to be the
Indian (he had the best legs, after all) but instead he wore his kilt and that
was it. DahnKai had tried to convince him to play the part, to which MacKai
said he didn’t need to play with his part with that sexy Ashell nearby.
DahnKai gave up trying to play dress up; it was enough of a struggle to get him
to even get this far! DahnKai was the cowboy, full with chaps, vest, boots with
spurs, and hat. And that was all he wore, except the codpiece. They danced
around and as DahnKai turned his back to the ladies, they got to see the firm
piece of milky white flesh otherwise known as DahnKai's posterior end.
Fantasma’s jaw
dropped to the floor. She was torn between thudding, blushing, (cuz she would
never do what her Kai was doing! Dance maybe.. but she gets cold quickly), or
to burst out laughing. As the three Kais danced the typical YMCA dance, she
decided laughter was the way to go, as their performance was reminiscent of her
high school senior showcase. Which was understandable, as it had been thrown
together at the last minute. Where they found the costumes is yet to be
determined, as is the spotlight. Not that it mattered; the desired effect was
taking place. Ashell got the benefits of being the hostess and Ezri and
Fantasma got to enjoy some fun that could have happened at the ball should they
had shown up on time, or had woken up. Nevertheless, the three ladies whooped
it up while Jarod laughed.
The music faded
mid-song, and another took its place. MacKai and DahnKai bowed out off the
floor and RosaryKai took a solo to "Just
Dropped in (To See What My Condition Was In)." The combined effort of
Kenny Rogers and First Edition ticked the ears of those in the room while
RosaryKai got his groove on. At first, he was a little hesitant but then he saw
his lady and all reservations melted away.
It started with a
little bit of pelvic thrusting, and some swinging of his hips. His whole body
shook and he jumped around the floor before taking his place over Ezri’s
lap where he started gyrating. Ezri’s face was priceless; it was a cross
between shock and pure delight. She reached up and grabbed him, squeezing his
firm cheeks. He stepped off of her, took her hand and led her to the floor
where he proceeded to dance about her. He rubbed up against her, and then he
would hold her real close and they would move as one unit. Then, as always, the
end of the song came too soon and he led her back to her seat, made a slight
bow, and made room for the next performance.
MacKai proudly marched
onto the ballroom floor. His scowl was very obvious announcing to everyone he
did not want to do this. But DahnKai was his brother, and he knew his lady
meant a lot to him. They wouldn’t let him sing what he really wanted to,
"
Dressed in a tuxedo
shirt, jacket, and his kilt, he grabbed a microphone. Jazz music floated
through the speakers and he sang a most wonderful rendition of Frank Sinatra’s
"I
Did It My Way." Ashell smiled a secret smile. Whether it mean that she
knew the song was appropriate, or whether she was the one who got it her
way, only she would know.
His thick Scottish
accent hugged the words and gave it the most interesting flavor. The four of
them listened, nodding with the rhythm. He sang it loud. He sang it proud. The
music was calm, but intense with energy. As it swelled, they could feel every
note MacKai sang. He amazingly conveyed so much emotion with every word that
passed those full, moist lips. Fantasma had to take a deep breath. He sang it
so well, she hadn’t realized she’d been holding her breath.
As his song neared the
end, he notes got longer and longer, suggesting that he really didn’t
want to give up the spotlight.
"You know,"
said Jarod to Ashell," For a man who was too adamant against this, he
appears to be to be enjoying himself quite a bit."
Ashell nodded, "I
only wonder if a monster has been created." To which Jarod laughed.
MacKai's song was down
to its last two notes and he stretched them. Then just when he appeared to be
done, he yelled for an encore. Only when DahnKai and RosaryKai came out and
carried him off by his arms did he finally stop. Out in the hall, he could be
heard saying "There now! Are ye happy! I've sunhg yer sonhg!"
With MacKai hushed at
last, DahnKai came out with a guitar and a stool. He motioned to Jarod who went
to get the guitar and stool located near the door. Together they sang "More
Than Words" By Extreme. Fantasma could not take her eyes off of him;
the long flowing hair DahnKai had released only moments before mesmerized her.
He sat there on the stool, wearing the black jeans and white T-shirt that
complimented him so well. He strummed the guitar with such ease, such mastery,
like he knew every inch of the instrument. He knew just how to strike it to
make it sing. He looked directly at Fantasma as if she was the only person in
the room.
Ezri and Ashell watched
DahnKai and Fantasma and smiled. The energy was very intense between the two,
lady and clone. There was something refreshingly pure between them. Knowing
that DahnKai had masterminded the performance gave them a warm feeling.
Fantasma had slept through the ball and DahnKai only wanted his lady to feel
happy. He would walk to the ends of the earth for her and she for him.
DahnKai checked his
fingers as he changed chords that broke the locking gaze he and Fantasma had
shared. This gave her a moment to appreciate the blending voices of Jarod and
DahnKai. The music warmed her heart and soothed her soul. She had never loved
him anymore than she did just now. She sighed happily. She looked at Jarod. He
was a puzzle. She had only met him a few days ago and yet he was still here and
he was singing for her. This man must have a heart of pure gold.
The last note of the
song came, and the silence left afterwards hung peacefully for a few moments
before the next song started. Dahn left the floor while Jarod returned to
Ashell, Ezri, and Fantasma. Fantasma was about to say something to him but the
three Kais walked back out for one last number. The unmistakable bass and beat
of Queen shook the room with "Another
One Bites The Dust." A song perfect for the end of their gifts to
their ladies, and their past professions as assassins. With each clap of the
beat, they aimed their arms as though to shoot their braces. As quickly as the
song started, it ended. The three women jumped to their feet and applauded
wildly.
"Well, I guess I don’t
need to ask if you enjoyed it," DahnKai said.
"Oh my! DahnKai,
you, all of you, were absolutely amazing! What drove you to do this?"
Fantasma asked.
RosaryKai and MacKai
pointed to DahnKai.
"You?"
Fantasma asked.
He smiled sheepishly
and nodded.
"I have no idea
what to say, except, thank you." She kissed him on the cheek.
"Ah, but M'Lady,
the night is not yet over." Almost magically, he waved his hand and David Bowie’s
"As
the World Falls Down" started. And the seven of them danced till dawn.
