p.

Thanks for taking the time to learn about me.   True, the only way to get to know the real me is to ask, but this should get things going.  If you think of anything to ask, please e-mail me, sign my guest book, or IM me on AOL or AIM (either CristyNoH or JBSeaQuest).  You can also find me on ICQ (16044670). = )

Anyways, I am a recent (if you consider 2000 recent!  How long can I claim that description?) (I can no longer claim recent... it's just too long *sniff*) graduated from the University of Maine with a B.S. in Zoology way back in 2000.  (Hence, I love animals) I currently reside in Holliston, Massachusetts (If you know where that is I already like you... and yeah, I'm a M@$$hole.  Deal with it. = ) )  I have big plans to become the next Joan Embrie or host a show like the Kratt brothers.  And if I can't have that, I'm just as happy to go out into the woods and live with the squirrels = ) Wait, forget the squirrels, I'll live with the chipmunks... squirrels are funny creatures, they are there when you don't need them, but when you go to look for them, they disappear.

Plans for Joan Embrie and Kratt bothers are still currently on hold.  Instead, I work in a lab playing with harmless skin cells.  It's kinda cool, but rather repetitive.  Repetitive.   Repetitive.

Bob Ballardthe scientist, is cool!

It's hard to pinpoint while I like out there (since there is quite a bit) with the exception of a few things, like seaQuest (DSV not 2032), Jonathan BrandisBuffy the Vampire Slayer (along with Angel), Firefly and Serenity, Velvet Chain, Darling Violetta The Maine Steiners, and Five O'clock Shadow.

A Moment of silence for

Jonathan Brandis 1976 - 2003

To say I like Buffy the Vampire Slayer, is to put it mildly.  I first stumbled upon it back when it was the movie.  Twas corny, full of B-flick camp, but it was still a good ride.  Then, the series aired.  Oh. My. Joss.  I can't remember if it was love at first sight, but it truly blew me away.  And now, it's had 7 seasons... a very good ride, if I do say so myself, and I've been a loyal fan.  There was a time when other obsessions came in and got comfortable *cough*Lexx*cough*Vin Diesel* but the Season 6 premier hadn't even aired yet and I was itching to see it again.  What hunger did I have!  And, despite the less that happy tune Season 6 sang, I still yearned for it week after week and the hiatuses that took place with reruns were A.G.O.N.Y!  Remind me to post my analyses of the eppies.  It would seem some get a kick out of what I have to say.  Guess now I have to go hunt them down...

I was also loving Angel too, one of the rare few who *liked* the Pylea arc.  As for Season 3... it had good moments, but overall I wasn't too happy with it.  Season 4 wasn't that bad... I definitely had issues with some of the storylines, but the end bit with Jasmine was priceless.  Season 5 is looking to be something completely different, and what I have seen so far has be downright giddy! *g*

Season 5 was awesome.  It breathed a new life into the show.  *shaky fist*

Bless you WB for having given Angel (and Buffy the Vampire Slayer) a chance to succeed on TV.

And Curse you WB for your decision to CANCEL Angel in what appeared to be its best season ever!!!!!

Thanks to my love of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and everything affiliated, I was introduced to this amazing group Common Rotation.  With lead singers Eric Kufs and Adam Busch (Warren, BtVS Season 5-7), this group personifies energy.  I've been blessed to see them twice, once at the Whisky-a-go-go in Los Angeles and once at the House of Blues in Cambridge, MA.  Both times were beyond amazing.  I know I loved their music before I saw them perform, and seeing them has just added to my adoration.  Their music is folky and rocky and most definitely catchy.  Another vow for you, I will see them as often as I can.  And you should too.  Do it.

New to my list of loves is SciFi Channel's The Inivisible Man.  That's a show that keeps me in on Fridays.  Or it would if they hadn't cancelled it!!  Keep the fight going!

Add another love to keep me home Fridays, or at least a reason to use my VCR, and that reason is Scifi Channel's Lexx. I know it's been around for  while, but a week of Lexx every night provided me with a hankering beyond that which I could imagine!  Good thing I'm collecting them on DVD, cuz I ain't finding them on the air anymore.

*shaky fist* to you SciFi!  You've taken away Farscape, The Invisible Man, First Wave, The Chronicle, and who knows what else!!  And, with few exceptions, I doubt you can even be considered a scifi channel anymore...

Ok, I know I'm late on this... The Pretender premiered back in 96 (the year I graduated high school) and was unfortunately cancelled back in May 2000.  BUT, TNT has been airing the reruns Monday thru Friday at 7pm EST (though why they like to pull my chain by airing Law and Order, I have no idea).  And even better, TNT has produced two more movies revolving The Pretender saga!!  The first aired January 22 at 8pm EST, the second in December 2001.  Anyways, this show is so completely awesome!!  Michael T Weiss has captured my heart with his portrayal of Jarod and the more I learn of him, the more I love him (though I'm glad the eighties hair went with the eighties).  If ya wanna learn more about it check out TNT's The Pretender site!

Fox is a funny channel.  They gave Firefly and John Doe a chance. John Doe, more than the other... then, the pulled them both.  Then, they brought us Tru Calling and Wonderfalls, and again I fear in their infinite wisdom they will take those away too and give us more crap called "reality programming."

What's the deal America?? Why do you keep reinforcing the notion that reality programming is what we want??  We do not want this stuff!  We want innovative, compelling, quality programming!  Dramas, comedies, you name it!  We want the science fiction, we want the fantasy, we want imagination!

CSI is great, but enough with the spinoffs and the copy cats.  STOP with the Law and Order franchise!  Give us something new and different from cop and lawyer shows!!!  Give us Angel!  Tru Calling!  Joan of Arcadia! Wonderfalls! Farscape!  The Invisible Man! Crossing Jordan!  Veronica Mars!

GIVE US QUALITY!!!

And thanks for wising up and bringing back Jericho... at least for now...

In a broader aspect, I like sci-fi, nature, singing, anything that makes me laugh, music, dancing, movies, books, and  anything astrological and mystical.  In the realm of music, books, and movies, I have a broad range of interests.  With music, I would have to say I'm ecclectic.  I love jazz, classical, rock, pop, Yes I am a boyband fan! hip-hop, opera, musical soundtracksI love them all!  With books, I prefer suspense with a touch of romance sometimes a mystery and I love a good purely suspence/horror.  Movies, I'm not as picky about.  I will love it so long as it keeps my interest... which could change depending on the day.

= P For the most part I don't have favorites.  I am apt to say that everything I see/hear/read is my favorite.  (As you can plainly see by how many times I'll add something and say it's my favorite.)

My new favorite movie is X-Men (and its sequel)!! The movie rocks! The only bummer.. not being able to see James Marsden's beautiful eyes (been a fan of his since Second Noah) Oh man if you haven't seen Coyote UglyDO IT!!  It's a great movie about hopes and dreams and dancing on a bar!

4 words: Lord of the Rings.  See it.

2 more words: Harry Potter.  Read it. See it. Love it.

WOOHOO!! Another 2 words people, Pitch Black!!!  Oooh, Vin Diesel, grrrowl!  He is what motivated me to see The Fast and the Furious, xXx, A Man Apart, Boiler Room, and Knockaround Guys.  Normally, not movies up my street, but seeing him made it worth it!  My adoration of him prompted me to see all that he had done, including "Multifacial" the short film he wrote, produced, directed, and starred (if I am correct).  It was this film that caught the eye of Steven Spielberg.  SS then went and CREATED a role for Vin, how awesome is that?!?  So far, I've seen all that Vin has done, save the works that are yet to be released (Strays, etc.)  I will see them all, I vow to you.

Serenity.  The new favorite.  And I haven't even seen it yet!

Have any of you seen Queer Eye for the Straight Guy?  If you haven't, you should.  This show is funny, entertaining and such a breath of fresh air.  Not to mention, the guys are all hot!  It's almost a shame that they are all gay... not like I had any chance if they weren't, but fuels for fantasy, right?  I have to admit, my faves are Jai and Thom.  Jai because he is such a cutie and Thom because he reminds me of Adam of Common Rotation.  But anyways, the show is fun.  And their opening theme is so cool.  It's like they are all superheroes or sumthin, and I get a kick out of it each time I see it.  But, anyways, you *need* to watch this show, got it?  Check it out, Tuesdays on Bravo at 10pm EST.  All check out Bravo's website for any info you may desire.

BioGuard, the stink that lingers.

I am also a relatively new fan (yeah! Since 1997!) of ice hockey. I was first introduced to it during my second year at college.  My third and fourth years I was all for it.  I absolutely love it!!  And while I have yet to pick my favorite professional team, I know the UMaine Black Bears are my favorite college team.. course I am a bit biased... = P = )

And that is me in a nutshell.  I will add more as I find so exciting to share, so feel free to check back. Yes I can contradict and yes I will repeat myself.  But, really, didn't you have some fun being confused? *g*

Smurfs, Cheesecake, and Yoda

Peace, love, and happiness.
